This journey of health and fitness I’m on is a COMPLETE lifestyle change. I’m somewhat lazy when it comes to this exercise thing, I bore easily and I HATE THE GYM (10 Reason I Hate The Gym blog coming soon). In order for this to work, I have to try different and exciting things to keep me motivated.
Hike4Life New England is an organization implemented to introduce people of color to hiking and other outdoor activities (of course all are welcome to hike). They hosted an event, “Walk off the Turkey Hike”, the Saturday following Thanksgiving. This was perfect because that’s the day I officially started my journey and the day I fell in love with hiking. We hiked a trail at the Blue Hills Reservation for 2 hours. I used every muscle in my body, including ones I had no clue existed. Many times I wanted to quit but the view at the top of the mountain was worth the pain. If you want a good workout, a fun activity and to try something new, check them out!
